## Automation platforms

Middleware work is delivered as part of Workflow Automation and Software Integration
rather than as separate services. Smoothly builds on all three major platforms:

- Zapier — straight-line automations, largest app directory, maintainable by non-technical teams. Also auditing inherited accounts and repairing Zaps that fail silently.
- Make (formerly Integromat) — multi-branch scenarios, data transformation with iterators and aggregators, and Zapier-to-Make migrations.
- n8n — AI agent and LLM workflows, custom JavaScript/Python steps, and self-hosted deployment including VPS provisioning, Docker, SSL, backups and upgrades.

Selection rule: straight-line workflows go to Zapier; branching and data-heavy workflows
go to Make; AI steps, custom logic or self-hosting go to n8n. If the whole workflow lives
inside HubSpot or GoHighLevel, their native automation is used and no middleware is added.

3. Build it to fail loudly — every workflow ships with error handling, so breaks are flagged and logged rather than failing silently.
4. Hand it over properly — SOPs, training sessions, and recorded tutorials come standard.
